A resident near the scene of a fatal car crash in Perth has described how wreckage was strewn across his front lawn.

Three men, aged 43, 34 and 31, were killed last night when their vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree in Morley. Inspector Ian Clarke said the state of the vehicle suggested speed was a factor in the crash. "The vehicle has collided sideways into the tree and virtually wrapped itself around it, ejecting the V8 engine out of the vehicle and that's ended up approximately 30 or 40 metres from the vehicle," he said. One witness, who did not want to be named, said he heard a loud bang and left his house to find debris in his front lawn, metres from the crash site."We were just about to go to bed last night and we heard a really large bang over the sound of the music we were playing in our bedroom," he said.
